AirPrint and Printer Apps for iPad 2

Many of you are having problems or questions about printing from the iPad 2.  I will tell you two ways to print from the iPad 2.

1. To take advantage of AirPrint, check to see if you have any of the compatible listed printers on your campus, office, workplace, or home.

  • HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw MFP
  • HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer
  • HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fn Color Multifunction Printer
  • HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw Color Multifunction Printer
  • HP LaserJet Pro CP1525n Color Printer
  • HP LaserJet Pro CP1525nw Color Printer
  • HP Officejet 6500A e-AiO
  • HP Officejet 6500A Plus e-AiO
  • HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format e-AiO
  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-AiO
  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium e-AiO
  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-AiO
2. If you do not have any of the printers listed above, then you can try the App store, via iTunes or on your iPad, to look up apps.
  • Print n Share: ($8.99) Print to ALL printers. Print direct to most WiFi/Wireless printers without extra software. Print to ALL printers and any document type via your Mac/PC. Print remotely over 3G and in corporate/other networks where WiFi is not available. View, store & print email, documents, files, attachments, photos, contacts and web pages on your iPad/iPhone/iPod touch.
  • Print: ($2.99) “Print” enables you to quickly and easily print out photos, contacts, & phone numbers – or print out web pages to read later (if you want to print email, docs, web pages or calendar etc, look at our other app “Print n Share”). “Print” will enable you to print direct to most WiFi printers without additional software, or to ALL printers via your Mac/PC, even over 3G.

Check the app store to see more printer apps and to get more information. Each printer
app on the app store, will require you to download and install a third party application in order for the printer functions to work on the iPad. This will NOT activate AirPrint.  You will have to print form within the app you downloaded front he app store.
